a vespa guy from st. louis shared a link from vespa-ciao.nl with me about the super bravo 2. here are some of the highlights that differentiate super bravo 2s from other vespa mopeds
first off, super cool 80s styling

then there is the crank length difference.

the superbravo technically runs a stationary toothed belt that actually fits in the grooves of the drive implements (unlike other vespa mopeds where the belt grips against flat surfaces).
so normally with vespa, when there is a stationary belt, it’s single speed, right? well, the super bravo two has a different rear transmission, a manual multi-gear transmission. You can see a cable near where the rear brake normally hooks up on the transmission hub and it is connected to a pedal assembly piece that changes the gears.

here’s the pedal assembly with the cable attached so you get a better idea.

here’s the transmission broken down, part by part.

wild stuff. declan sent me this as he owns a super bravo, the version before this one. it runs with the usual variated transmission, however it has a kickstart engine, stock CDI, and obvious porting and carb differences as stock he says it runs 37-39 mph. that sounds awesome! here’s some pics of his

pretty sweet, eh?
